Babymoons, girls' trips, or just a pre-baby vacation–whatever it may be, a trip to Disney while pregnant takes some planning and lots of packing. As someone who loves a good Disney trip, I found myself needing a mom-daughter trip while my husband was away for six months of training during my pregnancy. What better place than the Happiest Place on Earth for a pre-baby vacay? Here are all my tips and tricks for a perfect pregnancy Disney Vacation!
Pre-Trip Packing
Packing all depends on the time of year you’re going to Walt Disney World. Regardless, you’ll need those stretchy, comfy pants/shorts! My trip was in April, and it was HOT in Florida, so biker shorts were a must, along with many baggy, stretchy t-shirts. Your outfits may vary, but comfort is key! Shoes are also crucial. Depending on any swelling, you’ll want to consider what works best for you. I lived in comfy sandals or sneakers. To prepare for the heat, you’ll want a fan, cool-down towel, a LARGE water bottle, and plenty of snacks!
Florida’s heat can cause swelling, so try on your clothes pre-vacation to ensure you have options that are slightly baggier. Don’t forget to grab a larger suitcase to fit all those baby clothes you’ll be bringing home!
Park Bag Essentials
Your park bag is important–you’ll want all your must-haves with you in the park. Every pregnancy is different, but some must essentials from my park bag are:
Snacks & Drinks!
A LARGE insulated water bottle
Mints/Gum for nausea
Snacks (crackers, Goldfish, gummies, Etc.)
Planning for Heat and Sun
Sunscreen
Hydrating Spray
Fan (electronic or paper, or BOTH)
Cooling rag
Sunnies!
Keeping Fresh
Deodorant
Hand sanitizer
Anti-perspirant
Plus, don’t forget your accessories! Is it really a Disney trip if you don’t wear your Minnie Ears?!
What to Look Forward To
I am a BIG ride enthusiast, and so is my mom, so I was slightly bummed to find out there were rides I couldn’t go on. However, there are still plenty of rides you can enjoy while pregnant.
Key Tip: The Disney World App has ride descriptions, and you’ll be able to see cautions for riding while pregnant if a ride has them. Make sure to look at the shows and attractions’ cautions and signage too–some are not suitable for expecting mommas!
Important! Ride cautions are for most healthy pregnancies. It’s best to consult with your physician before your trip to know what is safest for you and your baby.

Ride Tips
For rides with lap bars, if you’re early in your pregnancy or wearing baggier clothes, Cast Members may not realize you are expecting. If the lap bar is too tight, alter the Cast Member. They are happy to reset the bar, so you are both safe and comfortable. I recommend putting your hands in front of your stomach to stop the bar for a comfortable fit.
Snacks & Mocktails
The smell of popcorn and sight of Mickey Ice Cream Bars can be irresistible. I recommend grabbing a popcorn bucket on day one to meet cravings and save money. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! This means frequent bathroom trips, but Disney has ample bathrooms. One day I visited the bathroom 17 times, just in the park!
Mocktails are a great way to enjoy a special drink. My favorite request was, “Could you make me something sweet that resembles a cocktail but without alcohol? I’m expecting!” The bartenders were fantastic at creating mocktails, and some menus even had them listed.
Relax, Enjoy, and Treat Yourself!
Don’t forget to rest! Your body is doing wonderful things, and it’s important to relax. I highly recommend the Expectant Mother massage offered at Senses Spa–locations in the Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs. It’s a perfect way to end your trip with some relaxation focused on your needs as an expectant mother. Make sure to arrive 30 minutes before your appointment for the full experience.
Enjoy your trip as an expectant mother–it only gets better when your little one arrives!
